Rules:
Roonka Rules
The community is governed by a set of rules. These rules, and some others, must also be adhered to by those hiring cabins to ensure everyone’s enjoyment and comfort when staying at the property.
DOGS: are no longer permitted unless special circumstances. The owners of the cottages are permitted to bring their pets but still must have them under control.
NOISE: during the week please restrict noise after 10pm; Weekends around midnight, with the exception of, all occupiers still being up or when no one else is staying at the property. In particular this applies to the Homestead verandah and the bonfire spot out the front.
CARPARKING: please park along the side of the cottage and try not to obstruct others from putting in boats or accessing their shed bays. No parking or driving on the lawns.
BONFIRES: bonfires are permitted in the designated areas and you must use the wood allocated for this. No wood collecting is permitted on the property. Fires can only be lit on non Fire Ban days and when there is no wind. Also, please no fires during the day in the warmer months.
INSIDE FIRES – cooler months only, and also use only allocated wood.
RIVERFRONT USE: Cottage 4 has its own private area to the left of the jetty. The jetty is for everyone’s use. Cottage 1 beach area is directly in front of the cottage, and the Homestead and 3 cottages share the 4 shade sail areas on the main beachfront. When busy, only one boat per Cottage/Homestead at any one time. Mostly respect other patrons and share the beach/es as best as possible.
Lights on the river front – switch near steps. Please turn off when not needed.
PRIVACY: Feel free to walk around the property which goes back to the sheep grid; but please be aware of each of the cottages privacy when in the vicinity. Also be aware of what your children are doing especially when near the riverfront.
NUMBERS: unfortunately we need to restrict the number of people per cottage especially during busier times. This also includes visitors.
